Basics of Habitat Gardening. Lavatera Assurgentiflora (Mission Mallow, Island Mallow, Royal Mallow, Island Tree Mallow, Malva Rosa) is a species of flowering plant in the mallow family. It is endemic to California, where it is native to the Channel Islands.
